Hello, my name is Jeff Holland. I’ve worked a variety of jobs over the years to pay the bills, but my passion has always been in the area of the arts.  When I was a child, my friends and I didn’t have a lot of money for sports equipment or to go places, but we would spend hours around my mom’s kitchen table drawing epic panoramas on huge pieces of brown wrapping paper.  Years later when I was 12 years old, my mom would occasionally check out a Macintosh computer from work and I taught myself how to use MacPaint, which was a precursor to Photoshop. I also began to teach myself how to animate using computers in middle school. What I’m really trying to say is that using technology to create art has been a passion and a great hobby for me for most of my life!  I’ve worked around print production and graphic design for over 18 years.  When I’ve had the money, I’ve taken college-level classes and have earned over 90 credit hours.  To hone my skills I’ve had classes in:

  • Basic Acting

  • Color Theory

  • Computer Graphics

  • Digital Image Manipulation

  • Drawing

  • Life Drawing

  • Photo & Digital Imaging

  • Publication Design

  • Scriptwriting for Games & Multimedia

  • Theatre

  • Typography

I am intrigued by all elements of pop culture especially that of the 80’s era. I only mention this because of the renewed interest of all the cool art and technology that came out of that time and how it’s a direct influence on my graphic art style. Of special interest to me is animation.  I thrive on figuring out programs, how to do effects in new and better ways and teaching what I have learned to others.  My YouTube website, Poptoogi, has over 10,700 subscribers and I have posted over 200 tutorial videos.
